my birthday present to (2 of) you… (giveaway closed)

this giveaway has now closed and the winners have been emailed directly. thanks for participating!

bodyshopIt was my birthday yesterday and to celebrate, I’ve got a lovely giveaway for 2 readers.

I was sent a Buriti Baby Mini Essentials kit for Pip and some honeymania items for me by The Body Shop and I also have one of each kit to give away.

I used to shop a lot at The Body Shop when I was younger – the combination of the exotic fragrances and the policies and values appealed to my young teenage self. I clearly remember purchasing clear mascara to flout the no mascara policy when I was about 12, and many mini bottles of various body washes, combining little bottles and soaps in baskets for presents. Well, it was the 1990s. I was also very pleased with a brown silk scrunchie that I bought there using the £5 my Dad gave me for helping him with my sisters whilst my mother had an operation. It was lovely to touch and lasted for years, long after scrunchies went out of style. (I saw some scrunchies in a magazine last month; maybe it’s time to dig it out again!)

I was pleased therefore to have another go with The Body Shop toiletries and I wasn’t disappointed. I hope you enjoy them too! To enter, share your The Body Shop story or memory in the comments below and then tell me you entered by using the widget below. Good luck!

My strongest memory is going into the Body Shop when I was about 10 or 11 and out shopping with friends – spraying ourselves with ‘white musk’ perfume and tester sprays and feeling very grown up and sophisticated. Ooh – and strawberry lip balm – yum!

I remember my mum giving me some money to buy a new school shirt when I was 14. I got waylaid in the Body Shop and spent all the money on Dewberry perfume and Tutti Fruity lip balm. I got in so much trouble when I got home, but I like to think that the episode helped me learn how to manage my finances!

I remember going in the body shop a lot when I was a teenager and also receiving & giving the small bottles of shower gel etc as Christmas presents.

Oh, used to love making up those little baskets as gifts for people… you chose a basket, filled the base with coloured, shredded tissue paper, chose your products (especially those hard round balls that looked like marbles but dissolved – or popped – in the bath), then they covered it in cling film and sealed the base, finishing it with a pretty bow…. loved the nineties x

When I was given the Body Shop Hemp Hand Cream as a gift I wasn’t very impressed, I mean how good can a hand cream be? Well this stuff if amazing!! My hands are smooth and comfortable in all seasons and it’s half the price of my usual cream – bargain!

I remember buying my first ever perfume (White Musk) while on holiday with my pocket money I’d saved up when I was about 13/14. Always loved bodyshop 🙂

Gosh, I’ve not been into The Body Shop for years! My abiding memories are of going in and putting together gift sets for friends, having dewberry perfume and learning how to pronounce jojoba! One Christmas, alongside a pair of levi jeans and levi denim shirt (so 90s) I was given a complete makeup set from there – I can still remember the eye pencil now and wondering what I was supposed to exactly do with it! xx

I admit I still love body shop. Especially the body butters. I bought some of their makeup over the summer which I also really like.
