Monday is the start of month 3 as a family with 2 parents in full time work. It feels like weeks and weeks since I last posted here, but its actually only been 2. That’s the thing with everyone leaving the house before 8am and returning at 6.30pm. It doesn’t leave many hours in the day for anything else.
Last weekend we spent Saturday in Richmond, walking by the river. Pip loved racing through the long grass and spending time with her godparents. We ended the afternoon with a cup of tea on the terrace at The Petersham hotel; Pip scoffing olives and hummus before I gave her a mini bath in the wonderful large marble basin in the bathroom (it had the most beautiful blue patterned wallpaper all over every wall) and popped her into her pyjamas and tucked her up in her buggy to sleep. We ate Italian food, drank wine and chatted, getting the last train back into London and heading home.
Sunday saw the return of my sister (who departed in May to sail the Atlantic) and my other sister and her husband who was cycling in the Ride London race as a business mixed relay team. Although we found the idea of the crowds too much, we were very proud to hear that his team won the mixed relay event. We met the whole family including god parents for coffee on Leather Lane before various of us went to Artemis’ Vintage Jumble Sale where I bought Pip a beautiful vest and a little leather satchel which I’m saving for next Christmas.
And speaking of Christmas, we had a charity auction at work last week and I offered one of my handmade quilted Christmas stockings. I was delighted to have 12 bids! So, soon I will start making it and some more which I will be offering for sale. So, if you are in the market for a handmade stocking (approx 50x30cm) then let me know and I will email you the shop link as soon as they are ready!
I’m also going to restart the 30 day wardrobe challenge with a working wardrobe, probably in September, if anyone would like to play along.
