I’ve alluded to some pretty major milestones passing in our household recently. It really all kicked off before Christmas when Pip decided she wanted to potty train, whether we wanted to or not. We have gradually moved towards potty training (including acquiring a My Carry Potty for our trip to Copenhagen and 10 pairs of the sweetest little pants). We’ve also been using Huggies Pull Up pants to bridge the gap with nursery (as Pip is on the younger side, her nursery isn’t so set up for potty training, so we’ve taken in a potty and she wears the pull up pants rather than nappies at the moment), We went on the Huggies Pull Ups bus back in the autumn last year and found out lots of useful information. We use the Cars pants as Pip loves cars and they are red (sadly they are marketed in blue packets as opposed to the pink ones for girls) but I can’t fault the product itself, and the bus tour was really useful. Pip loves the reward stickers too… (and rabbit has taken to it well, as you can see).
(I can write more on this if people find it useful?)
Pip has also started to climb out of her cot. She managed this the first time in Copenhagen (from a travel cot) but the moment we got home to London she also deftly escaped her wooden one too. She’s been sleeping in a “big girl bed” which at the moment is the cot mattress on the floor of our bedroom, but after we move house, and she has her own, safe, room, will be a bed. Last night marked the first night that she slept there the whole night, and my goodness, aside from being very proud of her, was I glad for sleep which didn’t involve clinging to the edge of the bed or dealing with tantrums lasting 10 minutes several times a night.
Thirdly, we have decided to become a cycling family. Pip has her own seat and helmet and is obsessed with “ma chair” as she calls it, crying when so far she has had to be content with wearing her hat in the buggy until my bike arrives and M works out his route/timings/shower options. (He did the full ride this morning but left way earlier than the nursery opens). I have applied for my bike loan from work and picked out a bike. As soon as the paperwork is complete and I’ve collected the bike, I’m going on a (free, paid for by our council) cycling refresher lesson/course and then attempting the commute to work myself as well…
Lastly, two things:
I would be super grateful if you could take a second to vote for my talented sister-in-law,Teija Eilola who has been nominated for an Elle Style award for new Nordic talent. Voting is really quick and easy and can be done here. Thank you so much!
We have two winners in the The Body Shop giveaway! Congratulations to Claire and Chloe (who has been emailed directly). Thank you all for entering.
Thank you to Huggies for sending me a box of pull up pants following our trip to the bus. In the interests of full disclosure, I was not paid for this post but they did send me the products above. You can read my sponsorship policy here.
